Hello I'm trying to work with the waveshare gsm/gprs/gps shield (B), SIM808, and trying to send a message/turn power on with no success. I've also tried GPS, but both codes for sending message and GPS coordinates don't work.In the message part, I tried turning on the shield by an analog pin (in the schematic it says it's equivalent to the PWRKEY), but it didn't work. With that said, even when I do turn it on manually, it stays on for a very few time and it turns off after blinking for a bit.
SIM868 is a complete Quad-Band GSM/GPRS modem which combines GNSS( GPS/GLONASS/BDS)technology for satellite navigation. The compact design significantly save both time and costs for customers to develop GNSS enabled applications. Featuring an industry-standard interface and GNSS function, it allows variable assets to be tracked seamlessly at any location and anytime with signal coverage.
Find the best route and navigate to your destination easily and reliably with Navigator - the popular free offline multiplatform GPS navigation app from Mapfactor. Based on free offline maps from OpenStreetMaps project, Navigator offers intuitive turn-by-turn voice navigation in different languages with many useful features, e.g. speed limits, camera warnings, favourite routes and places, POI, lane guidance, different routing modes (car, bus, truck, pedestrian, bicycle, motorcycle. motorhome / caravan / camper), 2D/3D mode, night/day mode and optional live traffic feature.
Once you have dowloaded maps to your device memory, you can navigate without data connection in more than 200 countries all over the world. The free OSM maps are updated every month for free. Navigator also supports professional TomTom maps for more accurate navigation.
Navigator Truck uses professional TomTom Truck offline maps and optimises the route based on your vehicle properties. The navigation is more reliable and accurate avoiding low bridges and narrow lanes. Available for Android, iOS, Windows and WinCE.
Online traffic information helps you to avoid traffic problems and arrive to your destination safely and without unnecessary delays. Real time navigation. Available for more than 80 countries. Data connection required.
GPS and GPRS appear to be similar terms. However, they are completely distinct in meaning. The key difference between these GPS and GPRS systems is that GPS is a satellite-based navigation system, whereas GPRS is a cellular-based data service. GPS enables various applications, including surveying, satellite operation, mapping, power grid, precision agriculture, telecom, intelligent cars, etc. In contrast, GPRS provides applications like multimedia messaging, email access, video calling, etc.
When the GPS navigator receives insufficient information, the trilateration procedure fails. It occurs owing to the ionosphere and troposphere, which slow the signal speed. In this case, the GPS system alerts the user of the failure instead of delivering inaccurate information. GPS units are receivers like mobile phones that may transmit and receive signals. Each GPS satellite sends a navigational message to the planet, including an exceptionally accurate timestamp.
GPS and GPRS are two distinct technologies that perform opposing functions. GPS is a navigation system that communicates with satellites orbiting the Earth and may be reached even from the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
The effective interaction of innovative navigation and communication technologies with intelligent GIS management systems have led to a number of successful applications in the domain of transport telematics (e.g. route guidance, fleet management and emergency call) in the last few years. Since low price Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) and PD Acompatible GPS receivers are available, there is a potential to introduce new local and personalised mobile applications which require a vehicle independent combination of so-called core technologies like satellite positioning, mobile data communication, and GIS management systems. Hence, many processes in risk and catastrophe management can be optimized and the security of individuals (mountain rescuers, tourists, etc.) can be improved by this technology. 041b061a72
